Kayla J. Yoo is a songwriter, singer, music producer, multimedia designer and music columnist from South Korea who has developed Joombas Music Group as Chief Content Officer with Justine Ok, Yena Seo, and Hyuk Shin in 2011. In 2013, she was involved as a songwriter on "Romantic St' of Girls' Generation's 4th album, ''I Got A Boy'', which hit Billboard #1 World album chart in January 2013.〔(‘I Got A Boy’ Debuts at #1 on Billboard’s ‘World Albums’ Chart January 10th, 2013 )〕 Deeply involved with Fiera Music in 2012 as a director, she works on various music projects as a singer, lyricist, A&R, and multimedia designer/producer in New York City.〔( Fiera Team Member )〕
As a multimedia designer and producer, she has either directed, produced, interviewed, or written many interviews for artists Marques Houston, Elijah Blake, RAS, Mat Musto, Torae,〔( Torae in Music Salon )〕 and Oddisee.〔( Oddisee in Music Salon )〕 With Joombas Music Group, she directed contents on Joombas TV (the online media channel of Joombas Music Group), including industry news, interviews, online reality show and documentary. She also has worked as a video editor for the music video of the song 'Heal' by Natascha Bessez. As a music columnist, she works with Korean Hiphop/R&B online magazine HiphopLE. She writes the series of 'R&B Talk', 'Feature', and 'Stars in Love', which also published offline, by the Korean fashion magazine 'FAST' in 2013. In July 2013, she became a panel of the official podcast radio of HiphopLE, "The Art Of Hip-Hop" and "Hot Issue". She's also known as the voice of HiphopLE's intro clip, speaking the slogan 'One Step Closer to Hip-hop and R&B Music'. In February 2014, HiphopLE held a contest to find the new instrumental for the intro clip with using Kayla, Jolly V and NateDogg's voices.〔()〕
On January 28, 2014, Kayla made her music video directing debut in the single album, “Champion” by Born I Music and Justine. The single was released digitally and distributed worldwide by Fiera Music/Sony Music Entertainment Korea 〔()〕 and the music video was certified by VEVO. Kayla got also involved as a director of the project and the background singer.〔()〕
Subsequently, “Champion” was also featured in a Sony Music compilation album for the Sochi 2014 Olympics released on February 7, 2014.
